TF2 Painter's Toolkit (PS Brushpack)

Custom Photoshop Brushes for TF2 Texturing

Trying to make some good textures for TF2 and need that grungy toony paint stroke? Then you are in luck!

This contains 14 different brushes that help giving a material more of a TF2 painted look.

(The previews are only to get an idea of how these work and, of course, what they can look like. Don't rate based on the previews)

Do...

- ...Blot your selected material with close colours so the strokes are subtle
- ...Stay in the TF2 colour family
- ...Keep your strokes somewhat uneven for wall paint (unless it is a seamless texture) and even for weapons
- ...Very minor detailing
- ...Mind your execution of positive / negative space
- ...Make sure your paint strokes are possible

This is just an example of what is supposed to be one mesh overlapping another (or a brush over another brush for the mappers out there)

- Only apply paint strokes to things that would be painted on, like weapon metal or concrete walls/floors/ceilings
- Try to look at various in-game elements with the same features and use those as resources (not blatant copies)

Do NOT...
- ...Use this on skin, food, water, or anything else that you wouldn't paint on
- ...Hold down mouse 1 and expect it to work magic on your texture/material
- ...Over saturate the colours
- ...Make the stroke colours too far apart from it's near colours (Sometimes there are exceptions)
- ...EVER use 100% opacity on light stroke and square brushes. Do not ever do it. That is why there are heavy and medium strokes included.
- ...Use full white or full black (the in-game paint buckets are putrid and not a valid excuse)

If you use this for your own TF2 submissions, there is no need to credit me (unless you really want to :3 ). I made these to get the job done with help. I might make a painting tutorial with the included brushes if people want one, so I can show you more dos and don'ts when it comes to TF2 painting. Also be careful how you use these on your hats/miscs. Like I've said there are exceptions depending on your item, but still think if it's something that should, would, and could be painted on.

Please for the love of Danny Elfman consider trying these out in Photoshop and following my instructions above properly before rating.

I'm a couple years late on this, but um, how would you go about installing theese for like Paint.NET? (schoolbook costs are a fucking bitch, so that's why I can't just cough up some money for photoshop. Also, no matter what I try, google is against me finding anything remotely close to what I want.)

Paint.Net does not support brushes at all

Tested and working in GIMP 2.6. Just throw it in "C:\program files\Gimp-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\brushes\" ("~/.gimp-2.6/brushes/" in Linux).
