Now for one thing, you may either not know anything about what I'm talking about, or just think it's not Sm4sh related and not care. However, if nobody thinks about this soon, there will be no more Sm4sh mods. Back when the Wii lost it's Wi-Fi servers, people made a homebrew server for the Wii and DS so you could still do things online. The Wii U runs mods through the internet, so once the Wii U loses the internet, there will be no more Sm4sh Mods. What are we going to do? Are we going to make a homebrew server? Are we going to just not care anymore and just move on to the Switch? Tell me what you think, I wanted to make a different type of discussion this time.

What would be the point of that? There are still many users on the Wii U who use the online features. So it would be unfair to them just to buy another console. I'd say that the wifi is still good for the next few years. Why start talking about it now?

We don't only rely on Wi-Fi though, we have Haxchi for a reason. But I'm not saying this is a bad idea though, as we seriously need this for when Nintendo does cancel their servers.

I don't remember the Wii losing online capability, just online playability. I believe that the Wii Shop channel is still up and running.

Some people don't have a DS game to run Haxchi however.

The Wii Shopping Channel is still alive only because of the Wii U. I pretty sure regular Wiis can't use it.

Ahh, okay. But I believe the Internet Channel is still active. I see no reason why it would be discontinued..

The Wii Internet won't be dead for another few years. When the time comes, the community will be ready.

While the Wii online services are down, it only affecting online gaming. The net browser and other services were still available that doesn't involve online games.
