I liked the first BioShock; but seeing as System Shock 2 was one of my first games ever I was highly let down by the premise that BioShock "offered". The story was neat, but stories are rarely worth a second time around (Silent Hill 2 + 3 never gets old though) the game play was...alright, but the lack of a varied amount of enemies really started to bore me half way through. You really didn't have as many options to dispose threats as it made it out to seem; at least not as many that were as efficient as either a.) pissing him off with that ball, b.) hacking security, or c.) bullrushing with a tommy/shotgun combo.
Aside from the gameplay in general, one of the biggest reasons that I probably will not purchase BS2 is because 2k left BioShock to die.
There's still issues and bugs up the ass in the first game, and no unofficial patches were ever made thanks to 2K not releasing an SDK -- which it's not like they really had anything better to do at the time.
I do install it from time to time though because the game is audibly pleasing. BioShock and STALKER are two of the greatest games to fucking blast on a 5.1 surround sound -- BioShock even more when you pump the bass and listen for a Big Daddy coming for you.
I expected more people to love BS2 because of all the hype it's getting with the multiplayer. Guess it's receiving no FPSB love.
the funny thing about it is that i believe the multiplayer is gonna fail. alot of the plasmid abilities stun you so your like a sitting duck for most of the game. i pre-ordered that sucker for the story.
