A fan of video games since the era of the Spectrum 48K, over the last 10 years K@rt has gotten heavily into PC-gaming. He started online gaming with titles such as Age of Empires Age of Kings and Quake until 2005 when he discovered HL2 and Counter-Strike (1.6 then Source).
It was with the discovery of the Source engine that k@rt became interested in mapping and level design, which he started learning in late 2006. Since then he has worked on numerous projects, primarily for Counter-Strike Source, and has more recently branched out into modelling with 3dsMax. K@rt has a good knowledge and understanding of most disciplines concerning environment design and asset creation; mapping, modelling, texturing, sound editing and particle systems.
With the release of CS:GO k@rt is looking forward to making the most of a more advanced version of the Source Engine to create new and interesting levels and environments. For the future his only wish (like many others) is to be able to make a living doing what he loves, mapping!
