This here is the Avtomat Essena AE-0006+ assault rifle, manufactured by the F. V. Essen Manufacturing Company (OAO F. V. Эссена мануфэкчуринг Компани) - the Eurasian Naval Infantry's next-generation assault rifle.

The AE fires 6.2x34mm caseless ammo from a vertical feed 40-round magazine at a blistering 900 RPM. All controls are ambidextrous. As is most Russian weaponry, the AE is practically indestructible, kicks like a Kazakh horse, and can rip through just about any organic mass you point it at. Base accuracy is fairly high. It goes without saying that it's designed with absolutely no regard for the physical well-being of the shooter.

The AE-0006 has no fire selector switch - not even a safety. What it has instead is something called a 'chamber lock,' which prevents accidental cookoffs by cutting off the chamber (or something like that). The lock is active by default, and is disengaged per each shot by a sort of double action trigger. The lock can be manually engaged via the dial in the back, and that serves as the safety instead. I'm not really sure myself how it works, but the Russians have been building weapons longer than I have.

Fire control is done via trigger a la Steyr AUG. Crisply pull the trigger, and the weapon fires in semi-automatic; hold the trigger down, and it fires full-auto. There is no burst fire because real Slav men don't need no sissy burst fire.
