I feel like live action or high-end CGI trailers for games sort of help set the mood the game devs may want to be getting through to people, but it's always really cool to see them made with in-game graphics. some sort of childlike fascination with seeing some kind of cool machinima-esque video made in the actual game.

What I really hate is when a game company makes a trailer and it is nothing like the game itself, where the trailer uses higher poly models, better textures, and everything.

I don't mind them, but people should remember they're secondary to the game; it's like have people read a book during a movie trailer, it could provide extra background and exposition, but it shouldn't be integral.

The most important to me is the HUD and the gameplay sequences so I can understand the mindset I'm supposed to be in a bit.

Coincidence that this ends when the world ends?

Don't believe in that crap, dude. The world was supposed to end in the year 1996, yet we're still here. It was then supposed to end in the year 2000, but again, we're still here.

Back on topic: I honestly don't care if it's live-action footage or gameplay footage, I prefer to play the game itself to get my own opinion of it. If I like the gameplay, I'll continue to play it. If not, then I'll either give it to someone else or trade it in for another game.

I know its not going to end, was supposed to in 1986 apparently, and again in 1999, 2006 blah blah blah. I knew it'd get someones attention though >:D .

Anywho live action trailers are good, but seeing the actual in-game trailer does help in answering some questions that people have about said game.

I like Live action trailers to a certain extent, but if it's going to be for a game I would much rather see gameplay footage. Just makes more sense to me.

They often are really atmospheric and give the game and game descriptions available more depth
