Hi there about the trick for the soft edges like if it was baked its the black lines around the uvs, if you do a soft gradient from black to background color you can get a very nice effect, it needs a lot of tweaking till it gets good but it works as you can see on the previews just download it and take a look at the bump maps and i think you will understand
