I work a lot in layers and I "repaint" by issolating my subject and then using hue/saturation for example.

Lol, umm it's kinda difficult to teach something that I have learned in the past 2 years just by exploring and trying everything out.. But I can give you tips and what methods I use often in my pics etc..

Brushes, they play pretty big role, you may have seen all that dust,smoke,blood, and all that flying debris.. all created just by using some brushes that I downloaded from da interwebz.

Then comes the color, this is just trying to find some kind of mood for that pic. Just play around with it and find a suitable color.
