I'd be happy if you use my sky box. Just give credit to t.I.P.
Let me know if you need testing, and I'd like to see it when its done! (I do play Garry's mod)
I was bored. :)
Thanks for comment to my map :D Here is a newer version of the map: http://www.gamebanana.com/maps/154920
I've given it a look over, I'll be posting the full thing shortly on the map profile.
Just forewarning that it's not all good comments :P But it'll help with your next.
Is that you on your avatar?
Valve Developer Wiki - Good resource to reference and link to when commenting on maps.
Stick with plain understandable English; High level/technical English is acceptable only when it's technical terms related to the topic (portalflow, occlusion, physhull, specularmap etc).
Note: Not all FPSB members have english as their first language so they're more likely to understand only base conversational words. This also means that proper spelling is a must, if they need to translate something to their native language it won't work with miss-spelled words.
Change your writing style to match the person it's intended for - ex, "brushes"/"brushsides" etc means little to beginners, they'll understand "blocks" easier.
If using HTML text-styling within your post it shouldn't be used on more than 10% of the written text. Use it for highlighting important words/phrases for quick reference/skimming of text - not entire sentences. Leave colours to a minimum, highlighting in orange, then red, then blue doesn't make the words stick out anymore than they already are.
Previous Paragraph with overdone html...
Images are good to help explain something difficult, but don't add images for the sake of adding them. Just a waste of space and increases the load time for the page.
Even if a submission is almost entirely made of crap try to leave a few comments/polite remarks either about the submission itself or about them, otherwise your entire post could come across as hostile and they'll be less likely to listen to any advice given. Best to appear either approving or neutral, people are quick to call "troll" around here.
Sometimes best to place this at the begining of a post to set the tone for the rest.
ex, "Map's a good start for a beginner like yourself, I hope you can take some of the comments posted below and make your next project even more fun and interesting to play."
ex, "Great start in the modding community, there were some things I noticed that you can improve upon for your next relase: [...]"
etc,
Hey man, Do you mind checking out a new map i recently made.
Its based on the game Dead Space and contains mostly custom content
The exact name is ggDeadSpacefinal
It has a 60 second afk and camper killer along with color correction at 60 seconds which turns the map mainly white and black like sin city. Air vents collapse and oxygen escapes from the ship as players start dieing
*Turn Color correction on and play it for at least 60 seconds
I would appreciate it if you checked it out
p.s. it also has custom sounds and textures Heres the link
