Hi there, I'm just going to go ahead and copy/paste what I sent to Remus in regards to help with Community servers and the Pokeball models. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Hi there Remus [and Rafael :D]! Today I'm currently PM'ing you in regards to yourPokeball models! I've very, very interested in making these modelsavailable in my community server, however I have next to none experiencein modeling, therefore I don't have the knowledge to fix my issue.
Now to the issue (and fix) was mentioned in this quote by Rafael in this post (http://gamebanana.com/skins/131421) :
Posted by [Aus-ZM] JargonHi Rafael,Is there any chance you could do a quick recompile for these to makethem standalone CS:GO models?Community servers can actually override weapon models using plugins(many Store/Loyalty plugins have grenade skins for example) however Ihave tried to load these models in-game and in the SDK from a differentfolder so that it doesn't conflict with the VPK content and they won'tload, I suspect due to the file path being changed. The materials files are fine (though changing them to enable multiplevarieties could be cool too) but the model files would work better insomething like csgo/models/pokeballs/ for example.
You'll have to ask Remus!as I do not have the compile files, so send him a PM and if he stillhas the files and the time, he perhaps could do it. If not you candownload this, decompile the model and change the texture/model pathyourself.

~ ~ ~

Now
he mentions you can decompile and change the model path myself to makethis available on the server. However I have no knowledge on how to doso, therefore, I'm coming to you for some help!
Side Note: I amalso wondering if there is a way to get the sounds to play when you usethe model, much like in the youtube video, but for community servers, sowhen I pull out my pokeball (hegrenade) it will still make the same.wav sounds, but specifically for community servers.
P.S: Any help is greatly appreciated!
Anyways,I would really appreciate your help with this one, It would be veryexciting for all of us back at Allied-Gaming. Thank you so much inadvance, best regards, - Jacob.
You can convert it yourself in SMD as I don't really have it as SMD.
would you convert it to SMD,because I don't know how to convert it,and I have to learn converting
Hmm I currently don't have the exporters, you can load the obj/model file into your 3D program of choice and then export it again. As you're not converting/compiling it, it should be too troublesome to learn?
oh oh oh......It's too much hard to learn! I have to hire a private teacher to learn me converting! lol I have milkshape 3d,and Milkshape 3d doesn't support this format.I and I decided to buy/download 3d max for next year,
You could use Blender (which is free) to convert the model into the SMD format.
Would you convert it next week or when u are free,p;z :)?I'm patient,I'm not in hurry.tnx
The easiest and best way to get it done is to do it yourself, as you then also learn something from the process you had to go through to perform your task. So for the sake of learning I advise you to find some tutorials (here on GB) and try doing it yourself.
As I also do not have the SMD exporters as stated in one of my previous messages with that I got the latest version of MAX which does not support the SMD exporters properly, and as well as the first I'm free is the 1st of July, I'm a very busy man.
OMG.Sorry if I got your time :) OK I'll convert it next year(because of entrance exam),I'm busy like you :) thank you specially
Not a problem, you could always ask someone in the forums however, while it is even less than a couple minutes of work for someone who has the tools installed, I'm still not able to perform such a task as of this current moment.
