Yeah great tool. I've already made some spaceship models with it although it screwed up with the collisions. It's still an alpha though so no wonder this happens.
The good part of this tool is that you can build your map as you wish and if you need to optimize some areas or just want to convert complex brushes into props, you can use this awesome tool.
Are you working on anything right now?
By the time I'm finished with the 5 maps for Eternal Silence (which is some sort of campaign) I will surely do some natural landscape again. I don't know for which game though.

The beta of the map you commented on (fy_quad) is done and uploaded here.
I'm currently mapping for the mod called Eternal Silence a combination of fps and space sim. It is a really good mod which can be downloaded from Steam.
I'm making a campaign of 5 maps. :P
