Why would I waste my time doing all that and have it not work in the game?

Recticule edits are aloud, example, the numerous recticule edit submissions on here and the INS community forums. And the Eotech textures are in it's own folder which allows the use of transparency and it's not against the rules because it's in the M4 Aimpoint slot, which by default uses a sight.
