OK thanks for explanation mate, now I know what you mean, but still, a lot of sites have porting thread, the biggest one is FacePunch itself with the link I gave you, so you mean that if I re-upload the headcrab will be trashed again, due to this copyright? I just want to jump in and explain why porting is illegal:

When you download a game, a number of files comes with that game. Those files are what you've paid for, and are protected by copyright, et cetera. If you have not paid for the game, you do not have any rights to own any of those files. Therefore, downloading any files you do not already know from a game that is protected against porting is essentially piracy, and illegal. Uploading any files from a game protected against porting is essentially allowing other people to pirate the files, and even worse than downloading the files. If a user has not paid for HL2 or any other game including the headcrab file, then they will still be able to access and download the file you uploaded, thus downloading a file they do not have any rights to. That's why it's illegal, and why it's against our rules.

The fact that someone else did it does not make it any less illegal. People upload pirated files as well - just look at PirateBay. That doesn't make piracy ok, nor any better. I haven't really looked into the link you posted other than briefly scimmed it, but if the files are ported from one game, to another that does not include those files already, then it's against the rules, and I'm surprised Facepunch hasn't done anything about it yet.

And that link doesn't prove anything. Especially not that what you've done is legal.

Either way, it won't get untrashed, as it's against the rules of our site.
