Currently the way the bake has been made doesn't influence the smoothing of the block that much, your example might bake a better normal for the edges but currently it doesn't really matter as it doesn't fuck things up at all that's for the feedback though, I'll probably use it that way next time.
About them credits, many helped me in the Wip it's not really needed to mention every single person who commented on the wip. If you want me to add them I don't mind but it's not something I would do on my own. Unless it's direct help via steam/teamviewer etc.
Edit: I tried your way out and the results aren't as good, check the comment I quoted you with on the WIP. If I did anything wrong feel free to correct me.
Are you giving that feedback from the sight of the p3d preview? If so it's nothing to do with the bake nor smoothing groups, p3d has sometimes some problems with baked normals as you can see with the other BIM's although they render fine in max and game.
