Counter-Strike: Source : Bot's Navigation Mesh for the map DE_HIGHRISE

Nav Creator: Meurglis3, Release Date: March 8 2017

Here is the Navigation Mesh for nice big multilevel map de_highrise by X-tr3m3r / Diamante Pasotti (released April 2009).

It's a totally created from scratch and manually optimized .nav-file (because an original map author's .nav-file was not fully playable).

Most areas and paths were created manually and some additional paths were created from scratch. Special attention has been paid to critical areas (in particular to pathways through all ladders, narrow stairways and wing doors).

Also this Navigation Mesh was fully Place Painted (more detailed and pertinently than in the original .nav-file by map author).

Well... the bots have opportunity to use all walkable ways now. These vertigo-trained bastards perfectly feel everywhere - under the open smoggy sky and in a twilight of stuffy corridors ;-)

NOTE: For possibility of comparison and in-game testing the original .nav-file by map creator available to downloading with the same map.

Play and Enjoy! Also remember: your ratings and messages are always welcomed :-)

Credits and Gratitudes: X-tr3m3r (for spacious and fascinating urban-themed map).

Additional Gratitudes: BarnDoor (for perfect playable navigation meshes for many fine CS:S maps), Chizbone (for informative and clever article BOT_BRAINED and a set of excellent navigation meshes), CoCoNUT (for fine hand-tuned navigation meshes for many fine CS:S maps), Valve Developer Community (for learning articles by Navigation Meshes and Navigation Mesh Commands).

Over and over, always tried to get away... :-)

Through your work on navigation files I've found myself discovering great maps to play that otherwise wouldn't have even heard of. After all I'm pretty new to the CS Source section and what are "traditional" or "classic" maps for some people are pretty new and unknown to me.
For most of people a local game with bots - the only opportunity to play on non-standard maps. Enough one look at maplists of internet game servers.

As usual, on a small and simple maps the bots play more or less decently with simple auto-gen nav-file (without any additional editing). Though exceptions happen quite often :-)

Quality of the navigation files is especially important for big and complex maps. Playing with bots allows to estimate her merits and demerits fully. Also to feel interest to a gameplay on this map.

So well, optimized nav-file has direct (and quite important) influence on our assessment of the map. And often can change this assessment on opposite :-)
