MaterialSystem.dll

sigh....

By TheSheepness 2 years ago

For god sakes!!!

When are the compiling errors ever going to end!

So, problem is, whenever I try to compile with whatever compiling program, I always get this god damn DLL error : "ERROR: Can't load MaterialSystem.dll". Fuck sakes I'm pissed, I've tried everything, from simply restarting Steam, to uninstalling source SDK and removing the damn DLL and letting the new source SDK create it.

I've also tried looking through FPSB's previous threads for hopes of help, although most are unanswered, and others with an attempt of help in them don't work.

Even after all this crap, it still doesn't want to compile and continues giving me the same error.

So I turn to the FPSB compiler community for help, either you're a map or weapon compiler, both need to go through the same Source SDK files.

This is yours if you can help me :)

I'm compiling for CSS. Would you suggest doing the same thing, but in reverse? Say, from the orangebox/bin to the ep1/bin ?

What are you using to compile? I'm not sure about StudioCompiler but I think GUIStudioMDL uses orange box tools.

(I tried to put my GUIStudioMDL in the ep1 bin and it never seemed to work)

Maybe if you tried copying the MaterialSystem.dll from your source sdk base/bin and pasted it in your ep1\bin (or orangebox\bin, whichever your compiler is in)

    Four-old bump-DERP DERP

I have the same exact problem, I used to hack stuff together a few years ago and tried a simple weapon re origin.

I remember that the SDK used to broken as all hell, and it seems that even more workarounds are needed now. I've literally tried almost everything to get around the materialsystem.dll problem and so far nothing. Studiocompiler and guistudiomdl both do the same thing.

I'm on XP Pro SP3 if that helps.
