Need help with 3 things

By Hav3nsblade 2 years ago

Hey guys, I got 3 questions for ya here and I hope everybody can help me. 1st question, where do you install background images? I tried putting the .vtf file into cstrike/materials but twas to no avail. Can anybody shed some light onto that? Also, is there any way I can take that background image, resize it to fit my monitor and turn it into a vtf file? If so, please help. Ok, I shall finish off with 1 last question. I'm trying to install this hand rig by .eXe and to be completely honest, I absolutely have no idea where to put it! I tried putting it in cstrike/models, cstrike/materials. Please help, I know this is a lot but, please bear with me. Thank you, I appreciate any help that you guys are willing to put out.

    1) cstrike/materials/console/background01.vmt 2) Download VTFEdit to convert files to VTF. NOTE: VTF files must have dimensions as a power of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 512 etc etc)

There are tutorials about texture creation/GUI creation in the tutorials section of the website.

    3) Are handrigs not used for modelling purposes within 3DSMax/XSI etc?. You put them where-ever you want to create your models/animations for weapons as it's only the final compiled product that needs to be placed in the cstrike folder.

If this is not the case and you are talking about a skin etc, best to link to it but normally they are made in a way to just extract the contents to your cstrike folder.

The Handrig folder has 4 .tga files, and on the site from .eXe's skydrive, it clearly states "RIGS THAT ARE WORKING".

Those are files you open in 3DSmax to create weapon skins/animations etc, they're not provided for immediate use in the game.

Should delete the link due to porting concerns however, that stuff isn't allowed here.

Grr, I really wanted those rigs to work =. If it's not too much to ask but, I downloaded this AUG skin and by default it's mirrored to the left side which I hate because I'm a righty. There's a .ctx file that mirrors it but, when I join a server I get a HostError: Server is enforcing file consistency for scripts\weaponaug.ctx. The skin has an un-silenced version and silenced. The mirror works fine with the silenced version but, the un-silenced is the problem.
