Im having trouble converting a .dd file to a .bmp format the dds conveter wont open the dds file. i try and use the converter tool but it wont open it so i cant convert the file. and the only tut on this subject doenst help im folloing all the instructions but no dice.

Don't bump so quickly.
If you tell us "it won't work," we'll tell you "give us the error report." Simply saying something doesn't work is useless.
The Wikipedia article for that format lists multiple programs/plugins you can use. Have you tried them?

Really, i guess try reinstalling the .dds converter.
actually, you can just use VTF Edit. It allows you to import .dds files then export as .bmp.

im actually using vtf edit also but how would i use vtf edit to do that? thanks for your help dude.

-Open VTFEdit.
-press control + I.
-Locate your .dds file. it should import and be viewable.
-Press Control + E to export, and choose .bmp format.
-done.
