Modelling Help

Need some suggestions please!

I would like to know what the most compatible program for making weapon models for Counter-strike Source is.

    Pretty much any modeling program will work, such as Milkshape, XSI, Maya, 3D Studio Max, Metasequoia. Personally, I use 3DS Max.

    I tried 3DS Max but it seems much more complicated than neccesary, but then again I'm not that experienced. Personally i used XSI which worked pretty well but i was just wondering if there was something more suitable.
