SO i was searching my special places and i came across some really cool information How to make Crysis have dx10 Graphics on windows xp YES XP

Now i played Crysis on vista and its amazing and runs like a bueat... but with the graphic enhancements its not that smooth as it is on vista sadly thous features fit much better in vista lol.

[my rig] 32"hdtv Dell 1700 pci express 3.0 ghz single core ATI radeon 1600 512 megs of ram 1.5 gigs of ram 200 gig hd

Here is how:

"Tweak the configuration files in \CVarGroups\ by copying and pasting the "very high" settings (1st paragraph) IN PLACE of the "high" settings (last paragraph) the game will load the highest possible settings even though the drop-down menus display "high."

I messed with it alot more and changed even more stuff but there is rumerd to be a ultra setting but idk if u can unlock it or if its even in the demo.

Im going to upload some screenshots and my config file soon so be patient ill be back later !

but screw with that i was running at 36-60 fps all the time and now well im running at 20 or so lol but i will adjust it when i want for my best feel for my rig

    So wait, "very high" is basically DX10 settings?

    LOL my friend owns vista and he played it on his pc and he hates vista so much b.c its such a resorce hog still...... he says stay with xp if u got it

    the only advantage right now is the dx10 power but in 4 months the new Nvidea card is comming out and new nvidia motherbord..... thats when im upgrading my pc to vista.... no earlyer and i have compared screenshots from my config to vista dx10 and there is little difference lol but its still the demo.

    Meh. I hate it when people say that Vista sucks. It doesn't suck, it's just that your computer sucks too much to run it well.

    I think that to. My pc i know would be rated like a 7.5 or 8 at least

    his is rated a 5 lol

    idk it really does depend on what ur rig is made of

    btw i dont mind vista at all its rather cool in my eyes. but im waiting till i can afford all that stuff lol and run crysis like silk on it

    Just to let you know, having Vista doesn't automatically give you "DX10 Settings". You need a DX10-capable graphics card for DX10 to work.

    no, it's Vista.

    I have a laptop that's far better then my normal computer, and it has Vista. can't run games worth shit. it has more RAM, an actual video card, and a better processor.

    Umm... its a loptop.. unless you carry around a PC with a screen bolted on and call it a laptop, then it's never going to as good as a similaraly priced PC. and what is this "actual video card"? does it have a name?
