Joining a studio or mod would help develop your skills, especially if you're working with some experienced modders that are willing to help you improve. Mods, to be honest, are simply just ways to help better yourself in a short period of time, and studios are more like families that come together every now and then (meaning that they don't have constant releases, but they do keep in touch and release every now and again).
Benefits of Mods-
* Large Dev Team
* Quick Paced
* Plenty of Interacting With Other Modders
* Community Criticism
* Variations in Skill/Style
Studios tend to have less of a goal, so they tend to die out from inactivity. Mods die because expectations don't meet reality. Either way, you get to improve your skills, but don't expect either to stay around forever.
I agree, studios are a great way to work together to improve yourselves. I release that much stuff as my sprays and maps are made alone, but I try to incorporate others.

Texturing. I could understand UVs and such, but for some reason, even after tutorials, I didn't understand how to make metal and such.
Imo modelling is easier than texturing.
Yeah well i need to bake my model.... and i dont know what the fuck to do... i was told i need to make a UV for my low poly, and some other stuff and im like T_T......
i end up just staring at my computer for at least 30 minutes or so trying to figure out what to do.

I suggest we have a bake sale so we can raise money to buy spacebunneh the cookie he deserves.
That model makes me want to start modding again D:, I might have a whack at skinning again.
Thanks eagle. And if you take a try at it again what will you try?
