I played CS 1.6 in school, during the maths class.

Today I had the best maths class. Ever.
(Important: Nothing was forced here. It was part of an agreement between me and the class teacher, to which the director agreed, too.)

So, let's see the context first:

My class will go on a 3-day school trip to Montenegro. I was refusing to go. So, that went on for a few weeks. And then, I decided to carry out a condition: if _____ plays CS 1.6 with me, I will go on the trip. (I put _____ because I don't want to use her real name. Basically, it's the girl I used to love in 6th grade)

Then, that changed a bit. Since she refused to do that, someone else had to. :/
But then we had another agreement. The best student in the class (she has all A's) wanted to do it. (she's my cousin, by the way)

And, then, it happened.

14th March, 2017. We brought our laptops into the school, and the Wi-Fi passwords were typed in by the school secretary, on our laptops. (I found out the password later on when I was digging through the properties)
I saw my school's director there. He asked me a question on English: "What do you think about this game, 'counter'?" (we say "kanter" in BiH, it's a jargon for Counter-Strike)
Yeah well, I will not say what I said, so...

Now, let's see what actually happened!
At first, the situation was somewhat unstable. One of my friends tried to go to a website to install CS 1.6 on the girl's laptop, but I already had a copy on my USB stick. So, that part went fine.

I disabled DEP (Data Execution Prevention) on her laptop for hl.exe because it was causing hl.exe not to work, and I also did some minor tweaks because her laptop didn't support OpenGL nor DirectX. xD
It ran in Software mode. Then we made some mouse sensitivity adjustments and we looked like we're ready.

Then, things got messy. 15 minutes had already passed and we have just reached the playing phase.

Basically, she tried to connect to my LAN party, and I launched the school map. It took forever to load on her laptop!

I mean, the map's huge, of course it didn't load:

"Smajo, don't hit us! Zla?a (his father) will hear about it!"
Yeah, there are many mocks like this, lol.

While it was loading for her, I was demonstrating to my classmates that I actually made their dreams come true.
Lol, one of my friends went on the second floor and shot all the hostages, i.e. the teachers. (nobody from the class would do that in real life, though! Never!)

In fact, I believe that if it were to load, it would've lagged more on her laptop. Lol. Ah well, it could've been because of the drivers, but still... Software mode is Software mode!

Meanwhile, I noticed that Firewall asked permission for hl.exe to connect to the Internet. I completed that too.
Then, after that, I switched the game into windowed mode so I don't have to press the Windows key or Alt+Tab every time I want to switch windows.

And then, another 15 minutes had passed. So we had 15 minutes remaining. By then, it was pretty much 8:00 in the morning.
But then we started playing! >:D

At first, it was me and the friend who tried to install the game via the Internet.
Man, I can't believe I beat him even though he's clearly better than me. Well, I didn't use anything other than the USP pistol.
I had 52 HP and he had 40! Phew, we met on a lot of places, but I kept going the other way around to surprise him, and we eventually met on the end of a tunnel, and: 1 kill for Admer456!
(seriously, he didn't hesitate, he wouldn't have let me won)

Well, I'm usually bad at CS, because I don't "play" it that much, but he got rekt, so...

And then, it was her turn. Lol, she had to learn the controls, and it was very funny:

^ Step 1. Always position your hands in the gamer way. ^

(original picture)

Oh look who's touching my left arm. The same guy from my army trip blog.
It's Erwin123, as always! xD

Anyway, she had a Galil. (we call it "Halil" in here because Halil is a name of one of my neighbours xD)

What would you expect? She kept firing and firing, but each and every bullet missed me, lol. Or I missed the bullets, instead of them missing me, who knows...

She switched to a knife, started chasing me, and I played chicken. But when we reached the T spawn, I took my knife too, crouch-jumped her and started attacking.
Another kill for Admer456!

She was a bit dizzy after, I will admit that. But hey, it's normal to get dizzy after playing a fast-paced FPS for the first time in your life!

When Jody hears about this, she will laugh so much. I love it when I make her laugh or something like that. :3
I wonder where is she now, lol.

You can view the album here.
Anyway, even our class teacher (she's our maths teacher too, so this was on the maths class) went up close to see what's going on here. xD
She told my mum about this. Yeah well, I told my parents beforehand, so it doesn't matter.

The school map itself will be released on GameBanana (hopefully), and it's basically an improvement of my old school map.

The hype was real in the last week. I told everyone that they will see the school map, but they didn't believe me, until I showed them the screenshots.

I also told them that there's a new version coming for Sven Co-op first, and it will then be ported to CS 1.6.

And then, came this day. It was one of the best days in my life. I mean, how cool would it be if we had a Counter-Strike class? :D

In a nutshell, a miracle happened today. Let's hope that there will be more moments like this.

Are school trips mandatory in your country? Here when someone asks me if I wanna go to a school trip and I say "no", that's the end of it. Nobody will beg me to go and so on.
    Mandatory a.f.
If I don't go on the trip, my absence will be reported in the class journal, and it would negatively affect my "behaviour" score.

But it's cool that you could make a deal out of it.

Where I used to go to school, we too had IT class with computers and they weren't anything modern, but they were powerful enough to run win XP and CS :D

Too bad none of my classmates were into videogames, so I didn't play much anyway. There was no internet connection, only LAN, and I couldn't get anyone to play with me a bit of CS, if people played anything at all, it was solitaire -_-

Well, my classmates like CS 1.6 but no-one wants to play it in school. We have PCs in our only I.T. classroom but they're so weak that they can't even display 3D wallpapers properly. That's why we ultra-rarely bring laptops in school.

This only happened in your school once? Man in my school whenever he have Informatics and we finish the lecture sooner than we should have(which is always) the teacher lets us play cs 1.6 until the class is done after which we all go home.
Informatics, ehh... seems more like I.T. class to me. I had it in 6th and 7th grade, but I.T. will be back in high school. :D

Anyway, yes, this happened only once in the school's history. (and I did it, with a girl :D)

It came as a condition for me going on the school trip. Basically, I was refusing to go on it, and now that it happened, I promised to go.

One purpose of this event was the school map. I wanted to show it to my classmates, and they're pretty excited for it.

But yeah, if you're having such events in your school all the time, then good for you. :)

i wish the school that im going to be signed in is going to allow (laptops, phones, etc) btw i no longer live in the middle east , now i live in sweden wich has good connection :D
Ah well... my school doesn't allow phones, laptops etc. to be used. Everyone brings their phones and is taking a risk by doing that.

Bringing laptops here is 99.9% because someone has a presentation or something. The 0.01% is for something else, including this event. ;)

well i wish they would allow modern technology stuff in general xD

We have computers in our school, for class purposes. We installed cs 1.6 on all of them for our own use and they allow us to play whenever we finish the task with a boat load of time left until the end. I know that feeling playing games with a girl, I know from personal experience with a girl. I often play games with her, and we like each other since we both like the exact same things.
We also have computers and laptops in our I.T. classroom, however, I doubt any of them would run CS 1.6. (IBM Thinkpads xD)
Besides, 8th and 9th grades don't have I.T. We only had it in 6th and 7th grade.

Be careful how you word titles, I was expecting some kinda tragic school shooting story involving either a bomb or hostages.

    Phew.
Seriously, do you really have to be such?

If that were to actually happen (a school shooting), it would be epic! :D

But hey, war is sweet for the ones who've never experienced it, so I might be wrong.
